The Purpose and Mission of the Lamar County Communications District E9-1-1 is to provide rapid and convenient access to public safety agencies for the citizens of Lamar County , and to visitors passing through Lamar County. We strive to send the appropriate response agency to every call for assistance in a timely manner. To the best of our abilities, we offer our assistance to all other agencies, when requested, and within our means.
The Lamar County E9-1-1 Board meets on the 2nd Monday of each month in the Commission Meeting Room at the Courthouse. If a regular scheduled meeting falls on a holiday, the E9-1-1 Board meets on the next working day following the holiday. All meetings begin at 8:00 AM, unless otherwise announced, and are open to the public.
If you wish to appear before the E9-1-1 Board to discuss an important matter pertaining to E9-1-1, you must notify the E9-1-1 Business Office no later than noon on the Wednesday prior to the Monday meeting. Any backup information and/or exhibits pertaining to the matter you wish to discuss must be delivered to the E9-1-1 Business Office by the same deadline. If you have been scheduled to appear before the E9-1-1 Board, or if you have a matter to be discussed and you would like to have it dismissed from the agenda, please contact the E9-1-1 Business Office prior to the beginning of the meeting.
